friday knitting

today i give you my precious husband, to look at, i am not giving him away, and his hats. when we were dating he would ask when i was going to knit him a sweater, i told him not until we were married. i still have not knit him a sweater, not because i don't want to, but because he wouldn't wear it. he is a hot box and wears short sleeves year round. so at the end of my pregnancy i decided to make him some hats, cooper had way too many baby sweaters and it was hard to knit for myself due to my very pregnant belly. i think i knit both of these hats in two days time and both are free patterns. the first hat is we call them pirates.

and this one is lillehammer and can be found here.

please enjoy my precious husband and his hats. isnt he is the cutest?

  1. Those hats look great! I've been seeing a lot of the pirates lately and I think I might try to make one for my kids (DH would probably never wear it! - mr. conservative dresser, so boring!). Your hubby is a great hat model too :)

  2. I love both hats! They are above my knitting skill level so, alas, I will just have to adore them from afar.

  3. I love the hats. I haven't tried any intricate patterns like this before - but I am up for a new challenge.

I hope you have a better day today. Your posts are heartbreaking. With loss, some days the best you can do is to just get through it.

  4. Thank you for sharing both hats and husband. Love the hats! You are obviously a very skilled knitter. And your husband is a great model.
It's so good that you have each other in this excruciating time.

  5. Luc...I wish you peace today. I want you to know that 2 years ago to this day, I lost my sister in a tragic accident, and boy did she love babies. I just have this beautiful image of her doting on your beautiful Cooper. I hope that you know you are surrounded by friends, family and even people you've never met (like me) who are sending you love and warmth and that although we can never take it away, we can share with you and let you know that you are not alone. NEVER ALONE.

  6. I love your hats! I have been wanting to knit We Call Them Pirates for my husband for the longest time. I really need to give it a try. I just want you to know your in my thoughts. Even though we have not met in person, through reading your blog I feel like I know you. I feel like we're friends and I worry about you. I hope today was a better day for you. Wishing you peace.

  8. Jackson needs the skull beanie! Is it hard to do? (silly question, huh?) Looks pretty intricate. How much do you charge since I know I can't do it?
