breaking news

it took me taking 10 pregnancy tests for it to sink in that the clomid actually worked. it has been so hard keeping this from you all and i hope you forgive me if i lied to you about our news. i am so glad that i can finally share the news and write about this journey. let me tell you, it has been a ride, thus far.

so, here are the details. today, i officially enter the second trimester. we had genetic testing done and all cells are normal and there are no chromosome deletions. i had one week where i felt like i had a permanent hangover. other than that week i have felt good. my due date is february 27. i will have a c-section at 39 weeks. this makes the due date the week of februray 20th. we have a name picked out. but are not sharing at this point. don't worry we will. it has been much more emotional being pregnant than i thought it would be. it is a constant juggling of emotions. i have many posts written in my head. and cant wait to share them. my form of morning sickness is hunger. needless to say i have already gained 10 pounds. i gain the most weight in the first trimester. it was the same with cooper. we took a home gender prediction test. it was correct. we will have a fetal echo cardiogram of the heart at 22 weeks. so we will know exactly what the heart looks like. we are excited to be parents again. but are understandably nervous. thankfully i have a great doctor to help me through the next 26 weeks.
oh, we are having a boy!

  18. Congratulations! So glad to hear that Cooper with have a baby brother!

You may not know anything about me or my son, but I will tell you that EVERY time I see a beautiful little birdie, I think of Cooper. My friend was telling me the other day how she keeps seeing hawks, almost daily and she was afraid it was a "sign" of something gone awry. Without thinking twice, I said "No, it's Cooper. It's beautiful." Personally, I love hearing that my son is remembered by people who did not know him, and I've been meaning to share this with you. Perfect time to remember your Angel and get ready to welcome another beautiful little boy to your family. Congrats again, Lucinda...I wish you all the best!

  28. Due to the excitement I feel for your pregnancy, I will hold off on being mad that you didn't share sooner!! CONGRATULATIONS!!

I saw a cardinal the other day in my backyard. It was the day before my ultrasound and I thought perhaps it was my grandmother coming to say "hello." But my daughter looked at it and said what sounded like "Cooper." Of course I thought of you instantly and began to worry...but turns out the cardinal was bringing good news! And I'm grateful for that!

The cardinal that hangs in Elena's room, near her crib, is named Cooper. I've told you of him before...to honor your son and my gramma.

And I'm glad that he came to visit us, recently, too.

Congrats, again. I'll be checking in frequently for news!

    Best,
    A

  30. Lucinda and Jamey,
Leah just told me the exciting news yesterday. I am thrilled for the both of you! Although I don't know you very well, I adore your husband and can't wait for you to experience the many joys of parenthood. When Cooper died, Leah cried to me and said, "I know that having another child will never replace the loss of Cooper, but I just want them both to have the joy of being parents because it is so wonderful." I am glad her wish for the two of you and your wish has come true.
    Best,
    sara o
